Tom Bradley

The new Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) debuted to the public in 2013 and is the centerpiece of Los Angeles International Airport’s multi-billion dollar modernization program. The project, which includes highlights such as the 150,000-square-foot Villaraigosa Pavillion, 18 new boarding gates and the most advanced multimedia systems in any airport, is the largest public works project in the history of the City of Los Angeles.

As master developer of Tom Bradley’s dining and retail collection, Westfield, along with its partners, delivered a world-class traveler experience that raises the bar in airports in North American and beyond with 58 premier dining and luxury retail shops, new amenities, and cutting-edge design. Of the new destinations, 20 are local L.A. brands, 40 are new to LAX and 19 are airport firsts anywhere.

Featuring 360-degree views, inviting storefronts and sustainable elements, the dining and retail design criteria by Westfield provides travelers with unique areas to explore as they journey to their destination.  With 23 exciting new options – nearly three times more than before – ranging from luxury dining to healthy-and-fresh sit-down to grab-and-go, Westfield’s dining collection celebrates local chefs whose cuisine reflects L.A.’s culture, diversity and trends. Blending many of the world’s best known luxury designer brands with a distinctly Los Angeles flavor, Westfield’s 25,000-square-foot retail collection provides travelers with an array of specialty retail and travel essentials including shops from local institutions such as Fred Segal and Kitson and international fashion houses Bvlgari, Michael Kors and Coach.

Phase II of the Tom Bradley project is now underway and includes the redevelopment of the Departures and Arrivals areas – featuring new dining, retail, design and amenities by Westfield – as well as demolition of the terminal’s existing east side gates. The original Tom Bradley International Terminal opened in 1984. In 2013, approximately 34 air carriers at Tom Bradley served more than 9.1 million international travelers, over 50% of LAX’s overall 17 million international passenger volume.
