New Dining by Westfield and HMSHost Gives Passengers a Taste of Los Angeles at the New TBIT
Now serving, L.A. favorites by HMSHost highlight Westfield’s massive new dining & retail collection
LOS ANGELES, CA — Global restaurateur HMSHost, in partnership with Westfield, creator of iconic shopping destinations around the globe, is celebrating the debut of unparalleled new dining at the New Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Travelers from around the world are now delighting in the terminal’s breathtaking design, world-class amenities, and premier retail and dining collections curated by Westfield.
A hallmark of the new collection is the celebration of local restaurateurs by HMSHost and Westfield, with culinary delights ink.sack, Border Grill, CHAYA, Umami Burger, 800 Degrees, Vanilla Bake Shop and Starbucks Evenings now open in the terminal. Additional new and exciting dining – including Larder at Tavern and Starbucks – and shops will open progressively in the coming days and weeks.
Featuring the sprawling 150,000-square-foot Villaraigosa Pavilion, 360-degree views, inviting storefronts and sustainable elements, the new TBIT dining and retail design by Westfield provides travelers with unique districts to explore as they journey to their destination. When complete, the dining collection features 31 new options – three times more than before – ranging from luxury dining to healthy-and-fresh sit-down to grab-and-go showcasing demonstration cooking and sophisticated architecture. Westfield’s new retail collection features 36 new spaces that blend the world’s best designer luxury brands with a distinctly Los Angeles flavor. With additional contracts to design, develop and manage concessions at LAX’s Terminals 1, 2, 3, 6 and the iconic Theme Building, Westfield is an integral partner of the multibillion dollar LAX modernization project.

HMSHost is introducing seven of Los Angeles’ most celebrated local dining venues into the New TBIT with distinctly L.A. favorites and global flavors by Border Grill, ink.sack, Larder at Tavern, Umami Burger, CHAYA, 800 Degrees and Vanilla Bake Shop – part of a dining collection by Westfield that features 18 homegrown L.A. concepts.

Restaurateurs, cookbook authors, and TV personalities with “Top Chef Masters” and “Too Hot Tamales,” co-chefs Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger present Border Grill. Here, travelers find the best of Los Angeles—great food, from talented celebrity chefs, in a style that the city is known for, namely authentic Mexican food—dishes that are delicious, authentic and captivating, amidst the whimsy and fun of the restaurant’s spicy hot ambiance.
Top Chef winner Michael Voltaggio uses modern techniques to evoke flavor, and flavor is what explodes out of his sandwiches at ink.sack. Uniquely Los Angeles, ink.sack puts a great restaurant—a fine dining experience—between two pieces of bread.
